Instead of the cinnamon sugar, I just dipped them into coarse turbinado sugar (which caramelized nicely on top), and they were delicious. I'm panicking as it is on the eve of making my annual pineapple tarts for X'mas...!0_0!
Btw we often eat waffles with ice cream here. Vanilla or salty butter flavours would be nice for these I think.
Btw2 - There's a huge Portuguese community here in France & they're known for their desserts that are almost always made with cinnamon. My favourite snack is their pastéis de Bélem, a sort of flaky sweet cream pie. jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05630037464713499987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125715246990444305.post-64464754846492921052012-12-12T17:11:00.887+08:002012-12-12T17:11:00.887+08:00You could omit the cream of tartar and use 3 tsp o...You could omit the cream of tartar and use 3 tsp of baking powder instead or you could use 1 tsp baking powder (omit cream of tartar again) and use sour milk, buttermilk or thin, watery yoghurt instead of regular milk.
